Any Kind

for Robert Harris, DA Powell, and Sarah Marcus Donnelly

Look up. The sky is never constant, sometimes clouded,
but always full of light, somewhere; even the sky can
take something beautiful like the sun, like a star and deposit it
elsewhere; your eye will find it, and the sky will turn out its pockets
in despair, saying, the moon is now caught in the eucalyptus branches.

My friend has a bird cam and oh! How I love the large bird faces that motor
up to its great big eye! Unsuspecting! Hungry! Curious! It is a great surprise.

It is like a street one happens upon, like an unexpected roadside view on a highway,
a live act of care, a touch, or any kind gesture, to show how we live, love and thrive.
