Chicago-born and bred, David Breskin is a writer and record producer living in San Francisco. He’s the author of five books of poems (Fresh Kills, Escape Velocity, Supermodel, DIRTY BABY and Campaign), a book of interviews with filmmakers (Inner Views: Filmmakers in Conversation) and a novel (The Real Life Diary of a Boomtown Girl). His poems have appeared here and there, such as in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and New American Writing. Beginning in the early 1980s, he produced records for the likes of Bill Frisell, John Zorn and Ronald Shannon Jackson, and more recently has produced albums for Mary Halvorson, Kris Davis, Patricia Brennan and Nels Cline.
