Gentian Çoçoli

Albanian poet, translator, editor, and publisher Gentian Çoçoli is the author of four acclaimed poetry collections (‘Fragile Civilizations’; ‘Circumference of Ash’; ‘Human Soil’; and ‘To Sleep the Horizon’) and many books in translation including Selected Poems of Ashbery and Hughes. He won the National Poetry Prize in Albania in 2001 from the Ministry of Culture. Some of his poems have appeared in such American literary magazines as 91st Meridian, The Iowa Review, Iowa Writers, Words Without Borders, and Washington Square. In 1996 he founded the quarterly literary journal The Aleph Review. and he also runs a not-for-profit press, Aleph Klub, which publishes acclaimed poets and writers of the 20th and 21st century.
