Idea Vilariño was a prominent member of Uruguay’s Generación del 45. Her body of work includes the poetry collections La suplicante (1945), Cielo Cielo (1947), Nocturnos (1955), Poemas de amor (1957), Pobre Mundo (1966), Poesía (1970), and No (1980). Her literary contributions earned her prestigious accolades, such the Konex Award for Literature in Argentina in 2004 and the Gran Premio Nacional a La Labor Intelectual in Uruguay in 1987.
