Serhiy Zhadan

Serhiy Zhadan (born 1974) is a Ukrainian poet, novelist, and short story writer. English translations of his poetry and articles about him have appeared in The New Yorker, Modern Poetry in Translation, Tin House, Virginia Quarterly Review, The Times Literary Supplement, London Review of Books, World Literature Today, Asymptote, Poetry International, The Wolf, Two Lines, Blackbird, and elsewhere. Zhadan has published over a dozen books. He has received the Angelus Central European Literature Award (2015), the Joseph Conrad-Korzeniowski Literary Award (2009), the Jan Michalski Prize for Literature (2014), the Hubert Burda Prize (2006), the BBC Ukrainian Book of the Year Award (2006, 2010 and 2014), and the Brücke Berlin Prize (2014).
