Max Rosochinsky is a scholar, translator, and poet from Simferopol, Crimea. With Oksana Maksymchuk, he co-edited Words for War: New Poems from Ukraine and co-translated Lyuba Yakimchuk’s Apricots of Donbas and Marianna Kiyanovska’s The Voices of Babyn Yar. Their translations have been widely published and featured in the The New York Times, The Times Literary Supplement, Washington Post, and on BBC and CBC Radio. Max earned his PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures at Northwestern University. He has been awarded fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Study at the Central European University in Budapest, the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) in Vienna, and the Polish Institute for Advanced Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland. He is currently a fellow at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany.
